Welcome to Shalford Primary School’s website.  We are a friendly, half-form entry school that puts the education and wellbeing of our children at the centre of everything we do.  I am very proud of our children at Shalford Primary school; they are happy, very well behaved and enjoy their learning and we pride ourselves on a real ‘family feel.’

We asked the children what are the top things that make Shalford Primary special; these are their answers…

‘The teachers are so kind and supportive and great at teaching!’

‘The other children at Shalford make our school so caring and everyone is so friendly’.

‘I like the lessons, especially English – the whole school will read a really good book and then our classroom might turn into the rainforest or a pirate ship’

‘We have a massive field which we like playing on at break and lunchtimes.  There is plenty of space for us to run and we do lots of games and sports on the field.’

At Shalford Primary School our teaching develops effective knowledge, skills and attributes that enable the children to be confident, responsible and compassionate whilst developing a respect for humankind and the world in which we live. We want every child to have the core skills of literacy and mathematics mastered and learn through a rich and creative curriculum that encompasses science, technologies, humanities and the arts. In addition, we have a range of enrichment activities delivered through the children’s personalised timetables to enhance the children’s learning experiences. From September 2019 we will be offering a Breakfast Club from eight o’clock in the morning.  Extra curriculum clubs are also available each week day after school until 4:15pm.

The school caters for children from 4 to 11 years old and has been in the village of Shalford since 1874.  We are fortunate to have a beautiful setting and extensive grounds which the children enjoy all year round.   We are part of the CHANGE Schools Partnership Multi-Academy Trust which currently encompasses our school, Notley Green Primary SchoolJohn Ray Junior School and Cann Hall Primary School in Clacton. Together we work to fulfil our work of ‘aiming high – changing lives.’

Our staff and pupils would love to show you and your family around our school and grounds. All visits are welcome and I look forward to welcoming you to Shalford Primary School.
