Entrants for September 2022

Shalford Primary School is a 'Good' school in every area.  This is backed up by our recent OFSTED Report which can be found by clicking here.

Our pupils come from Shalford and the surrounding villages and some come from Braintree. Our school nestles in the centre of the village countryside. We have a large school field backing on to woodlands and farm land, and we have an ample playground. We are a half form entry village school (15 pupils) and have mixed age groups in one classroom. Our Foundation/Year one classroom is a self-contained classroom with its own kitchen, toilets and outside learning area. Pupils at Shalford Primary School feel happy and cared for and parents say the school feels like a large, happy family.

We are committed to providing the best start for our foundation children and good quality education. We have a keen focus on reading, writing and mathematics and we provide a thematic curriculum for foundation subjects. Children appreciate using the environment in their learning and enjoy lessons on wellbeing such as Mindfulness and yoga.

If you would like to look around the school again or have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.

Applications for foundation class school places, via the Local Authority, should be made by 15th January 2022.  The link to the Local Authority is click here

Successful applicants will be invited to ‘Stay and Play’ mornings at school in the summer term and we hold a picnic on the school field for new pupils and their parents just before the start of the Autumn term. Mrs Parker, the Foundation teacher will also call to make a home visit to see your child in their own environment.

Thank you for considering Shalford Primary School for your child.
